Meta just launched Muse Image, its first in-house AI image tool, and it’s rolling into Advantage+ ad campaigns in the next few weeks. The agencies that have their brand creative organized and ready will win. Here’s how I’m getting my clients prepared right now.
What is Meta Muse Image?
Meta Muse Image is an artificial intelligence model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs for generating images from text descriptions. It is Meta’s first in-house image generation technology and is being integrated across Meta’s apps, including WhatsApp, Instagram Stories, and the Meta AI assistant. Its features include the ability to generate legible text within images and incorporate specific people by tagging their Instagram accounts in the prompt.
The Muse-Ready Brand Asset Spec I Use — Copy It
This is the 6-column spec I use to organize a brand’s visual assets so an AI like Muse Image can understand and use them effectively. It structures the core components of a brand’s identity—products, people, and style—into a clean format. You can build this in a spreadsheet or Notion doc to prepare for Muse’s integration into Meta Advantage+.
## Muse-Ready Brand Asset Library
| Category | Asset Type | Description / Link | AI Prompt Keywords |
|-----------------------|---------------------|---------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------|
| **1. Product Shots** | Clean, white background | Link to folder with high-res PNGs of each product. | `[product name]`, `on a white background`, `studio lighting` |
| **2. Lifestyle Imagery** | In-context photos | Link to folder of photos showing product in use. | `woman using [product] at a coffee shop`, `lifestyle photo` |
| **3. People / Creators** | Instagram @handles | `@mikekwal`, `@mk-way` | `photo of @mikekwal holding [product]` |
| **4. Brand Palette** | Hex codes | Primary: `#00FF00`, Secondary: `#FFFFFF`, Accent: `#111111` | `in the style of`, `using a palette of green, white, black` |
| **5. Logo Variations** | SVG/PNG files | Link to folder with primary logo, icon, wordmark. | `with the [brand] logo on the shirt` |
| **6. Brand Tone** | Descriptive words | `minimal`, `bold`, `tech-forward`, `clean`, `energetic` | `energetic and bold product photo of [product]` |
This simple table is the brief. When Advantage+ starts generating its own creative, it will pull from the assets you’ve already provided. A clean, well-organized library like this gives the AI better raw material, which means you get back more on-brand, usable ad variations with less manual work.

Here’s Exactly How I Build a Muse-Ready Library
My process for creating a Muse-ready asset library is a straightforward audit and organization task that takes a few hours per client. The goal is to collect and structure all the core visual assets into the 6-column spec before Muse Image goes live in Advantage+. This proactive step ensures we’re ready on day one.
- Gather All Product Photography. I start by pulling all high-resolution product shots, especially those on clean, white backgrounds. I put them in a shared cloud folder and link to it in the spec. These are the single most important assets for e-commerce ad variations.
- Collect Lifestyle & In-Context Shots. Next, I gather photos of the product being used by real people in real environments. This gives the AI context for generating new lifestyle scenes. Again, these go into a dedicated folder.
- List Key People & Creator Handles. I list the Instagram @handles for the founder, key employees, or partner creators. This is for Muse’s unique `@mention` feature, which can pull that person directly into a generated image.
- Document the Brand Style Guide. Finally, I fill in the objective brand elements: the exact hex codes for the color palette, links to logo files, and a few keywords that describe the brand’s tone (e.g., ‘minimal’, ‘luxurious’, ‘playful’).
What This Changes for Ad Creative Workflow
The integration of Muse Image into Advantage+ marks a shift from manual ad creation to an AI-collaborative workflow. For agencies, this changes how we approach creative production, testing, and talent. Instead of designing every variation by hand, our job becomes curating the best inputs for the AI and then selecting the best outputs.
| Dimension | Old Way (Manual Creative) | New Way (AI-Assisted with Muse) |
|---|---|---|
| Variation Creation | A designer manually creates 5-10 image variations in Photoshop. | AI generates dozens of variations from a single product shot and prompt. |
| Sourcing Talent | Hire models for a photoshoot to get lifestyle images. | Use the `@mention` feature to generate images with existing creators. |
| Backgrounds | Pay for stock photos or composite new backgrounds manually. | Muse generates new product backgrounds and scenes automatically. |
| Speed to Test | Days or weeks to get new creative from brief to live ad. | Minutes to generate and launch a new set of creative variations. |
The new job isn’t about pushing pixels; it’s about building and maintaining the best possible brand asset library. The quality of our inputs will directly determine the quality of the AI’s outputs. This is a big piece of what I’m tracking in my industry intel updates.
My $0.02 — How I’d Roll This Out for a Client
If a client asked me to get them ready for Muse Image this week, I’d run a simple three-day sprint. The goal isn’t to create new assets from scratch, but to organize what they already have into a format the AI can understand. It’s a quick, high-leverage project.
Day 1 — Asset Audit. I’d start by getting access to their Google Drive, Dropbox, or wherever they store creative. I’d create a single master folder called “Muse Library” and inside it, subfolders for the six categories in my spec: Product Shots, Lifestyle, People, Palette, Logos, and Tone. The first day is just about finding and sorting everything they already own.
Day 2 — Build the Spec Sheet. I’d create a Google Sheet using the 6-column template from this post. I’d fill it out row by row, adding links to the folders I created on Day 1. For the ‘People’ section, I’d ask the client for a list of key Instagram handles. This spec sheet becomes the single source of truth for their brand’s visual identity.
Day 3 — Test Prompts in Meta AI. With the spec sheet done, I’d start testing. Muse Image is already live in the free Meta AI app. I’d take elements from the spec—like product names, creator handles, and brand tone words—and use them to write prompts. This helps me understand how Muse interprets the brand’s style before it’s even live in the ad platform.
FAQ
What is Meta Muse Image?
Meta Muse Image is an AI model from Meta that generates images from text prompts. It’s their first in-house image generator, designed to understand complex creative briefs and integrate with products like Instagram, WhatsApp, and, soon, Meta’s advertising platform.
How is Muse Image different from Midjourney or DALL-E?
Its key differentiators are deep integration with Meta’s ecosystem and unique features like the `@mention` capability, which can include a specific person from Instagram in a generated image. It can also generate legible text, making it useful for ad copy and labels.
When is Muse Image coming to Meta Ads?
Meta has stated that Muse Image will be integrated into the Advantage+ creative suite “in the coming weeks” following its July 2026 launch. No exact date has been announced, so preparing your asset library now is the best move.
Is Muse Image free to use?
The basic version of Muse Image is free within the Meta AI app and other integrations. Meta has indicated that extended creation with more advanced features will require a paid Meta subscription. Its use within Advantage+ will likely be included for advertisers.
What is the @mention feature in Muse Image?
The `@mention` feature allows you to tag a public Instagram account in your prompt (e.g., “a photo of @mikekwal at a conference”). The AI will then generate an image that includes a likeness of that person. This creates a new workflow for influencer and brand-ambassador content.
How can I prepare my ad accounts for Muse Image?
The best way to prepare is to organize your existing creative into a structured brand asset library. Collect your best product shots, lifestyle photos, creator handles, brand colors, and logos. This gives the AI high-quality source material to generate better, more on-brand ad variations.
Will Muse Image replace our creative team?
No, it will change their role. The focus will shift from manually creating every ad variation to curating the best inputs for the AI, writing effective prompts, and selecting the highest-performing AI-generated outputs. It’s a tool for collaboration, not replacement.
Can Muse generate images with text?
Yes, one of the advertised features of Muse Image is its ability to generate legible text inside images. This is a significant advantage for creating ads, infographics, or social media content that requires text overlays, signs, or product labels.
